Only One Plan

Mom gave a really good lesson on covenants yesterday (has she ever given a bad lesson?). In part of our discussion about it, we talked about the Plan.
Well, it got me thinking. We all know there was one plan - a Plan of Happiness. And we know that there was a choice to be made. We either followed the Plan in God's way (through Jesus Christ, which we chose or we wouldn't be here) or we followed the Plan in Satan's way (and wouldn't get a body or have mortal experiences).
Along those same lines, I think maybe there's only one plan for each of us. An individualized plan for our entire life. And we either follow that plan in God's way or Satan's way. When we choose good, we're following the plan in God's way. When we choose poorly, we're following the plan in Satan's way.
The important thing to remember is that only God's way actually makes the "big picture" a Plan of Happiness. We can't find happiness in Satan's way, no matter how hard we try or how much we rationalize.
God's plan was not, and never will be, a plan of selfishness. Everything in God's plan is done in unselfishness. Heavenly Father loves us so much He's willing to give us everything he has if we choose well. Satan's plan is all selfishness. Any time we put ourselves above anyone else or think we are more important than anyone else, we are following Satan. Satan is selfish, and that selfishness makes him want the worst for us so we can be just as miserable as he is.
That's probably not a new revelation to any of you, but it really made more sense to me about why we know God's plan as the Plan of Happiness. The only way to live the plan and find happiness is to do things the way God would do them. And God did (and still does) put us first when He allowed the Savior to atone for our sins, our sorrows, our misery, and our mistakes.
I guess all we have to do now is choose whether or not we'll follow our individual plans and do like we did in the pre-existence. Will we be selfish and choose Satan's way? Or will we do everything we do for others so that we can follow our individual plan in God's way and find happiness in this life and in the world to come?
