For once, forget about ...
There is only one person who can make you sad. You!
There is only one person who can make you happy. You!
There is only one person who can make you frown. You!
There is only one person who can make you smile. You!
There is only one person who can make you cry. You!
There is only one person who can make you laugh. You!
There is only one person who can make you depressed. You!
There is only one person who can make you overjoyed. You!
There is only one person who can make a change if things aren't how or what you want. You!
ALL things are possible because of a loving, generous, forgiving Savior.
Wanna know how to get what you really want? How to get the most out of life?
For once, forget about ... YOU!
If we are Christlike, we forget about ourselves, our wants, our needs, our desires. We serve others, do for others what they cannot do for themselves, give back where and when there's a need, and do as much of it as we can anonymously, without thanks, without credit.
Whatever your struggles/trials are right now, forget about how they affect you. Find another way to fill your life. Go to the temple. Play with your kids. Read the scriptures. Visit a sick friend, neighbor, or ward member. Be 15 minutes early to church just to hear the prelude music. Kiss your spouse because you can, and for no reason at all. Where mean and cruel words or thoughts exist, drown them out with a hymn. If you're seeking vengeance, write down 25 things about that person that you really appreciate or love.
In the words of President Howard W. Hunter:
This [day], mend a quarrel. Seek out a forgotten friend. Dismiss suspicion and replace it with trust. Write a letter. Give a soft answer. Encourage youth. Manifest your loyalty in word and deed. Keep a promise. Forgo a grudge. Forgive an enemy. Apologize. Try to understand. Examine your demands on others. Think first of someone else. Be kind. Be gentle. Laugh a little more. Express your gratitude. Welcome a stranger. Gladden the heart of a child. Take pleasure in beauty and wonder of the earth. Speak your love and then speak it again.
In other words, forget yourself and go to work! (From President Gordon B. Hinckley's life)
